Student Assistance Program (SAP)
At Urban Pathways College Charter School K-5 we have a team of educators that is comprised of teachers, interventionists, a counselor, a nurse, a behavior specialist, Assistant Principal, and Principal. Our team receives referrals from staff members who have been trained to observe concrete behaviors in students to make appropriate referrals to the team. It is important to realize that the SAP team does not diagnose, treat, or refer for treatment, but may refer your child for assessment or screening. One of the most important parts of the process include follow up and support. Please know that parents and guardians are a vital part of the team and are always the sole decision makers for their children. Last but not least SAP is a team approach to prevention and intervention. The SAP team is always a voluntary process for students and parents.
