W.A. “Art” Wharton
Art Wharton serves at the board President and also works in the nuclear energy industry in a global strategy management role at Westinghouse, targeting an operating market of ~430 nuclear power plants globally. Art earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering at The University of Texas at Austin, where he also held a Senior Reactor Operator license for the University of Texas TRIGA Mark II research reactor. He also holds a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Pittsburgh Katz School of Business. He began his career designing nuclear reactor cores for operating nuclear plants throughout the USA and has since gained experience in project management, risk management, business development, and strategy, all within the nuclear energy industry. He holds several committee and professional division positions within the national American Nuclear Society (ANS), is a media spokesperson for the Society, and is a past chairman of the local Pittsburgh ANS section. Art has served at the UPCS K-5 Board Secretary and Vice President prior to filling the role as its President.
Licensed clinical social worker. Professionally providing social services including behavior health, counseling, mentoring, health coaching, etc. Experienced in working with youth, families and groups in all domains. Familiarity with behavior health system as a direct service provider and have been involved with the administrative aspects as service delivery as well. Passionate in assisting distressed populations to receive the care and support needed to gain a higher level of health and wellness.
Ashish Kumar is Chairman and CEO of Talencea Corporation. He founded the company in 2010 with a vision to automate the hiring process using Artificial Intelligence. He has over 25 years of industry experience in management and sales as well as applying new technologies with a focus on improving business processes. Mr. Kumar has held a variety of roles at IBM including Global Sales Executive, Principal for the Americas Mergers and Acquisitions Practice, and regional Principal revenue and P&L responsibility. Earlier in his career, he worked for start-up companies in a variety of roles from technology development to management. He is passionate about improving the K-12 education system. He holds a B.S. and M.S. from Carnegie Mellon University.
